Ejector Refrigeration Technologies Center (ERTC) has established on the basis of Odessa State Academy of Refrigeration (OSAR) in 2001 by Prof. V.O. Petrenko - a world known expert in ejector refrigeration technologies. Under direction and participation of Prof. V.O. Petrenko successfully implemented a whole number of international research projects directed to study and improvement of ejector refrigeration machines (ERM), working on low-boiling refrigerants, and finding perspective areas of its application. Besides research and development activities, Prof. V.O. Petrenko a significant amount of time devoted to training of young scientists in the field of heat-driven ERM, thus eventually create a highly efficient ERTC team.

Substantial research and development in the area of low-grade heat-driven ejector cooling and refrigeration technologies has been carried out at OSAR since 1950. Investigation of about 20 experimental and preproduction models of ERMs operating with various refrigerants and driven by solar energy and waste or exhaust heat, allowed the ERTC team to develop the scientific and technical basis for design and creation of high efficiently ERMs for different purposes.

After association OSAR with Odessa National Academy of Food Technologies (ONAFT) in 2012, ERTC works as a part of educational and scientific Institute of Refrigeration, Cryotechnology and Eco-energy (IRCE), ONAFT.
